Today was my first day back since our holiday break. We had staff development and then I spent many hours unpacking and putting my classroom back together. You may remember my earlier post about Packin' Up. Our K/1 wing had to pack up and get everything off of the floor before the break because they replaced our floors. I'm happy to say that everything is back in place and my floors look clean, shiny and new!
On that happy note, I want to spread the word:
I am participating in Samantha Kelly's giveaway over at Mrs. Kelly's Klass. She is celebrating 200 followers with a massive giveaway! At least 50 items have been donated by fellow bloggers and TpT sellers. She separated it into 3 rafflecopters. That means you have 3 changes to win! You need to head on over to her blog or click on the image below.
I'm donating my Starring Silent "e". You can take a closer look over at my TpT store. In this activity the students will practice building and reading words with silent "e". It can be used to teach and model changing CVC words to CVCe words or it can be given as independent practice.
Included:
8 picture word building cards
8 silent "e" picture cards
Recording sheet
Before the Holiday break, my Firsties and I were practicing Text-to-Self Connections. This week, we will spend a few days reviewing before we begin learning about Text-to-Text Connections. Here are some posters and recording sheets I created for T-S and T-T Connections.
I'm joining Manic Monday at Classroom Freebies.

Teach With Laughter
That is such a great silent e activity, especially for my ESOL learners. Sometimes that reinforcement with the pictures can make all the difference!
ReplyDeleteThanks!

The Fabulous First Grade
Thanks Sarah! I prefer to use visuals when I can. I will definitely stop by your blog. I'm always looking for other first grade teachers to follow.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Classroom Freebies. I posted my first Manic Monday resource and love blog hopping through all of the wonderful teacher blogs out there.
ReplyDeleteI love your resources for making connections. We are working on that skill now and your material will really help out. I'm one of your newest followers :)

DeleteHi Corinna! I told you I would blog hop on over here and boy am I glad I did! Here in Ontario there is a HUGE focus on "making connections" in the reading section of the Language curriculum all the way from kindergarten up to grade eight. Your FREEBIE is awesome. I can give it to the primary teachers on my staff but I can also use it with my junior class! Hope your week back is going well...I have made it through two days so far!
